clutch pedal grabs high
clutch pedal grabs high
the clutch pedal on my 2003 honda civic ex 5 speed grabs higher then usual. i was wondering if this means that my clutch is going but i just had it replaced maybe 4 months ago along with the flywheel. the pedal height is fine but is there a way i can adjust the clutch myself so it doesnt grab so high?

I've posted about this many times before and have gotten different answers from different people. I think the general consensus is that you can't adjust the clutch pedal as it is a hydraulic system. I have a 04 EX 5 speed, 60k on the original clutch, and I get the exact same thing. It's odd though since you've changed your clutch and the flywheel. I've always figured it was because either one or both of those were failing that was the cause, so I guess we both need to go back to the drawing board.
For me, the clutch catches about mid way up through the travel, but does not fully engage until the pedal is nearly completely out. The way it engages is also very strange. Sometimes, usually when the car is cold, the bite point is very sudden. If you don't let out the clutch VERY PRECISELY, the car will jerk as the clutch will engage very quickly. Also, sometimes it chatters quite badly, but once the engine warms up, usually after 5 miles or so, all is well....except the high clutch pedal. Maybe it could be the internals of the trans itself. I don't think it's the hydraulic system for the pedal because I've had that replaced, and you've had the clutch and flywheel replaced, so we're at a bit of a dead end.
Sorry, not much help. Maybe someone else can help us out.
