fuel hose replacement, what PSI?
fuel hose replacement, what PSI?
02 civic ex, want to replace the rubber fuel hose that goes from the fire wall to the engine. It's 10 years old and doing the preventive maintenance thing.
Question: What does the replacement replacement rubber fuel hose PSI need to be rated at? From fire wall to engine, hooks to fuel rail and return line back.
Of course Honda wants an arm and a leg for these rubber fuel hoses.
Can't I just buy some by the foot at auto parts store? Just concerned to get something that can handle the pressure.
What kind of PSI runs through these 2 lines?
thanks

You had better post pics of what you think you want to do.
There is no return hose, and the supply hoses are plastic.
The only rubber hose is the purge line. No liquid fuel there.

#3 on the drawing is the fuel supply line, and #23 is a fuel purge line. The rest of the fuel line is rigid metal.
And the supply line is a semi-rigid line within a rubber hose.. At least, that's what it feels like (just went out to go check). It is molded to fit nicely in your engine bay, and it comes with the plastic connectors that fit on your fuel rail and fuel line. At majestic honda (hondaautomotiveparts.com), that hose is $27 plus shipping.
My 02 ex has seen 136k miles and is also going on 10 years, and it really doesn't feel like it's going to fail any time soon. Just my 2 cents.
