a little help
a little help
I have a 2004 sir ep3 with only 40k kilometers on it that I have just bought it has been running great up until today. The check engine light is now permanently on and it appears that the fuel is indiscriminately shutting off at different rpm's. It started on idle at start up then would not go above 2500rpm then 500rpm now it is back down to 1500rpm. Anybody know what could be wrong could it be a sensor it the fuel management system or something else.

Re: a little help
Your first step should be hooking up an OBD reader and find out code is triggering the CEL, I've seen cheap ones at Canadian Tire for $30 if you don't have access to one.
Re: a little help
sounds like the car is goin beyond safe mode follow the advise of previous thread hook is up to diagnostics prob best not to drive it too much if it acting like that could be doing unknown damage.
on a side note is the ep3 an sir over there just curious about the different markets over here what we consider and sell as an ep3 is a type r

Re: a little help
The SiR is the Canadian Ep3, the Si is the American Ep3.
The only Type-R Honda ever graced us with was the DC2-R, so North American Ep3s have a k20a3 instead of a k20a2 like the UK
