Help with P0420 and P1457 and steering stabilizer link installation

Hi guys,

This is my first posting at here.
When I had my front two tires changed today, I just found that the drive side steering stabilizer link is broken. So i just ordered a new one online, any help on how to install it by myself will be appreciated. Thanks.

And the car also got two CEL code: p0420 and p1457. Any suggestions.

The car is 2003 honda civic Ex couple, 60000mile. I found online that the CAT is under some warranty, but I don't know whether mine still under it or not? Is there any number I can call?

Thank you all.

Swaybar link.....if it won't unbolt, then cut it apart?

P1457 is an EVAP leak in the canister system. Check all of the solenoids (CVS/BPS/Purge) for function and leakage. A proper scantool makes short work of this. There is a bulletin #08-016 for the fuel vent module blocked or restricted too.

P0420 is the catalytic converter. The cat is covered 8 years/80,000 miles. 8 years from the original in-service date. You may be past that timewise.
Post your VIN number, I can check that from here.

Things are always going wrong when the warranty expired. Dame, the company really does a good job on this.

Delivery date was 10/16/2003 so it is past warranty.

California may have different warranty terms too (I have no idea where you live). Read your manuals.
If you have been a good customer at your dealership you might get some goodwill assistance since it is so close. Don't hold your breath. They aren't quick to help people that aren't loyal to their dealerships.

Hey hqfking, did you ever do the stabilizer link repair? Just found a broken one on my civic. I've read some things about putting the car on jack stands, then putting the lift under the knuckle to align things.

Did you do it, and was it difficult?
