Downshifting Squeal
Downshifting Squeal
Hey everyone. Quick Q;
If i'm casually driving in fourth and decide to drop into 3rd to gun it, I get a loud short squeal from a belt. Could this be a timing belt tensioner issue?

If your timing belt is squealing, I think you'd have more problems.
That said, it's probably the AC/Alternator belt.. Or PS belt.. Screw it, check 'em both, couldn't hurt.

Yea, my A/C belt needs to be adjusted for sure. I've been meaning to do it for a while, but its hard to get out there when its 110+ out
One more thing; when i'm driving with my A/C on every so often i hear a short squeal. If I'm driving on the freeway it happens every fifteen seconds or so. Is this also a symptom of a belt that needs adjusting?
