Re: A LOT of problems, need some input
quick update... after doing the LC20 engine flush and refilling with redline 5w30, acceleration to 3.5k or 4.5k is noticably better. it pulls harder and stronger than before. im not sure if its the oil or the flushing (it turned the old oil quite a bit darker) but the engine feels pretty normal again. maybe i will do another lc20 flush next time. i also opened the brake reservoir to check on the fluid and man was it disgusting. dark brown color fluid so i started sucking it out with a small turkey baster. when i got close to the bottom, i could see very thick and black "floaties" all over the reservoir. i sucked up most of them and took out all the brake fluid down to the MIN line, then poured new fluid back up to MAX. i got a bit nervous when air bubbles came out after pouring new fluid, but the car brakes fine after i was done. this is just a temp fix til i can get the car in a shop for a flush, since im sure its much worse in the lines and calipers. but what would cause all that junk to build up? i was sucking out big clumps or black gooey crud from the bottom. its too bad the fluid doesnt circulate or i could just keep replacing the fluid in the reservoir til its mostly new. fluid is only 3 yrs old btw.
i also should have most of my tyc retrofit stuff done tomorrow. they are back on with brand new lens covers and properly aimed. just gotta wire up the park/signal lights.
im still having problems getting air out of the coolant that i changed over a year ago. it doesnt overheat, but i always hear air bubble noises in the dash when i accelerate from a stop. ive tried countless bleedings and nothing comes out.

That's sick. Lol. I know you of all people do routine maintenance, so it really confuses me as well. I bled my clutch a few years ago and the fluid was like old Coke. But there weren't any floaties. It was just really dark.

yeah i checked my records and its only been 3 yrs and two months since last time. never had issues before with the brake fluid. and the engine looked pretty clean too so idk where all the black stuff came from in the oil. car getting old i guess lol

Geezo why does it feel like people who take immaculate care of their car are the same ones who the car gives the middle finger to and sixteen year old know nothings who are like "I drove this 30k miles without changing the oil" get the car that is bulletproof . . . maybe its all in my silly head.
Re: A LOT of problems, need some input
Ain't that the truth. My girlfriend has my old Corolla. I babied that car. She gets it, never bothered to do any of the upkeep in the beginning of ownership. Car ends up failing inspection, losing the entire exhaust system, getting tickets for said uninspected vehicle. Don't worry. It eventually comes around. My mom barely changed the oil in her old 4Runner. The engine pretty much ended up blowing up.

You still having problems? Not that i can help, being a 26 yr old "know nothing", but i AM worried about you(Gearbox) getting a different car or something and leaving the forums. you're the only reason i have an account on civicforums. that and im working up a large laundry list of my own problems, for you to advise me on. please dont go anywhere.
