Hot alternator--plz help

ok, so here is the deal, The bolt that holds the the alternator up that holds tension on the belt broke and my alternator slipped down causing no tension and so alternator spinning....yay, gotta love the placement of this alternator....regardless, I got a new bolt and everything is back in place, but when the alternator slipped it pulled the WHITE/GREEN wire has (un-pinned) it self out of the 4 pin harness that plugs into the side of the alternator...and now when my car is running the alternator gets very hot, and is smoking...(smoking is believed to be just the power steering fluid and degreaser that was spilled/sprayed on) regardless, I know my alternator should not be getting this hot this fast, I am right now trying to re-pin this harness, and waiting on a response to see if any of you might know anything else that I am missing....Thanks
