2003 honda civic green key flashing
My car has a green flashing key light on and the engine light is on.
The car will just not move in drive...I took it to the dealer and they said the computer cannot read the car..Can this be true. They said it's probably the anti theft and that's why the car will not mive in drive mode.
If I have to replace the computer in the car for it to work how much Am I looking at Pls help a female in distress...
Thanks to all who reply...

Replacing the computer is simple, it's just a couple plugs, the issue is that if you replace the computer then you'll need to have it towed back to the dealership to re-flash the immobilizer. It sounds like computer is toast since the computer cannot read it, so I'd suggest getting an ECU from a junk yard and having Honda install it.
ECUs don't go bad very often, so a junk yard would be a fairly safe route to source parts from. Honda should absolutely not charge you more than an hours labour.

Call them back and ask for a breakdown of the cost, how much is the ECU and how much is labour.
The part I think needs to be replaced in number 4 in the link, so the parts alone are $400+..
The same part can be bought for $50 used on ebay or through a junk yard though.
