rear suspension knocking sound

Have a 2003 civic and when the rear right wheel takes a crack or bump on the road it does a knocking sound. I've check the bushing and seems fine it also began doing that noise when it became cold (i live in quebec) So i was wondering if it could be the shock or maybe the damper mounting base.

Need help please!

Re: rear suspension knocking sound

The cold does funny things to rubber and plastic. Is it 1 knock or like a jittery knock? 1 knock is usually bushing(s) or bad strut, jittery knock is usually the mount.

FYI: If you replace the bushings or strut go ahead and replace the other side too. When you replace one side it puts more pressure on the other side and you end up replacing the other side pretty soon anyways.

Re: rear suspension knocking sound

it's 1 knock and it's not rebounding either so can it still be the strut even then?
