straight pipe CEL

my mufller I welded fell off one time and it sounded badass but I welded it back. I had a CEL when it happened. If I wanted a straight pipe what would I need to do to get rid of the CEL? could I just reset it?

Check what code it's throwing, it could be one of your sensors gone bad

it goes away after I put my muffler back on. I get the evap codes

Is straight pipe without a CAT? If the car is throwing the code and you just reset it, it'll keep coming back until you fix the problem.

did you check the engine code? nothing should happen if the muffler fell off or was replaced.

That's what I was thinking too, GB. My muffler broke off from the exhaust pipe and my car didn't throw any codes. It's gotta be a sensor or the CAT that's giving you the CEL.
