2002 Civic Door Lock - Key Doesn't Turn
2002 Civic Door Lock - Key Doesn't Turn
The key fits into the lock but then doesn't turn. It first didn't work on the passinger's door then last night the drivers door. The door locks still work using the inside autolock and manually so I assume the machanisms still do their job. The dealers response is to "just bring it in" which costs a fortune. I tried the whole WD-40, etc. route but nothing. I searched the other threats but didn't find anything on point.

Re: 2002 Civic Door Lock - Key Doesn't Turn
yeah its a sign of aging door lock actuator. you need that whole latch piece where all the rods and stuff connect to. around $50 i think and not too hard to change by removing the door panel and swapping the part. i have the same problem but since the keyless still works, i havent bothered to replace it (passenger key still works). i cant lock mine from inside tho cause its very hard to push the lock down.

Are you are using a newly cut key based on the old key or a new cut key from factory code?
