01 civic auto problems help
help me i have a 2001 civic ae auto 4dr
the tranny started to slip
and then rev no movement
and today it worked fine with check engine light that means
incorrect gear ratio so i was driving
and it moves with high rpms barely move so is it
my torque conveter

its either the converter or the clutches are too worn down. in any case, sounds like you need a new trans.

+1 this happens to every auto trans eventually. Even if it is the torque converter and you spend a thousand dollars to have it replaced your clutches are likely worn to the point that they will fail soon.

Parts for a manual conversion are like $800-900
An auto trans is probably over a $1000 at most junk yards, but I've seen them on craigslist for $500 a few times. If you just swap in a new tranny definitely sell, because it will fail.
