fogging in headlights?!!! =(
i washed my car 2 days ago and afterwards, i noticed that some water got into my right headlight (which i cleared btw). now everytime it gets hot, u see a thin layer of fog on the inside of my light, which is so bad that u cant even see the lightbulb itself from a distance. i did a search and basically the only solution they talked about in the previous threads was to remove the whole light and get rid of the excess water which i dont have time for due to upcoming midterms and all. i was wondering if there was an easier and quicker way to get rid of it, such as would removing the lightbulb then using the blowdryer to blow the water away from the inside work? also, would it be possible to wipe off the water from the inside using a small cloth work w/out removing the headlight? please help!!! thanks
btw, i know that once i get rid of the water, it'll prolly leak back in but this is just a temporary measure im taking until i get enough time to actually reseal my headlights

Removing the bulb and using a hairdryer works. One of my freaking fog lights fogs up every time it rains, so I take it off, take out the bulb and use a hairdryer. It's a pain in the a$$ to take that stupid foglight light out evertime I wash the car !!!
this shouldn't be your problem unless you've taken the lights off to clear the corners or they are aftermarket lights....take the car to your dealer while the light is fogged and tell them to re-seal it or put in a new light.....it's all under warranty....

A dealer would NOT do this. A dealer will not attempt to fix something you modified under warranty. You caused the problem by modifying the headlight and now the headlight has no warranty what-so-ever. Do not attempt this. You will look like an idiot. If you have them fix it, it'll be out your wallet for the labor which will be 13x the cost of more clear silicone. If you wanna prove me wrong, then I guess you've got a cool dealer. Just take your time. Don't worry about it fogging up. The worse thing that could happen is that you could blow a fuse for the headlight and that's easy to fix.
Just wait until you can reseal your headlights again. It's not that big of a worry.
Another way to fix this temporarily is to just garage the car though it'll still take a while for the condensation to clear. If you let it stay outside, it's gonna fog. Too much heat, or too much cool air will fog the headlight. If you can't garage it, then don't worry about it until you can reseal it.
help! headlight fogging
ok.. i did my painted headlight housing a few week ago.. and it rained monday.. and it started getting cold.. and i noticed that my headlights were fogging.. i used the oven to put my headlights back together and used silicone.. and last night i put a second layer of silicone.. and when i got home it still had fog/mist inside.. what should i do? should i reheat it again? and what kind of sealant do u recommend?

make sure the headlight is dried in the inside. most people on this forum said they used a blow dryer to dry out the inside of the headlights. if wors comes to worst, you'll probably have to reseal the headlights. make sure you use enough of that stuff in the seams of the headlight. what i did is i used my finger and spread the silicone over the seams and cracks. i just used regular clear silicone and have no problems.

Where I live, everyone's headlights and car fogs up. It's the humidity, and no headlight is 100% sealed. The bulbs are just screw in and vapor can still get in.
yeah but mine's worse! you can see droplets of water inside.. but i think i've fixed it.. not sure though since the temp these past few days didnt go down to 60.. maybe tomorrow! it'll be 55.. thanks guys!
