2001 Honda Civic Automatic Transmission Problems
2001 Honda Civic Automatic Transmission Problems
I'm hoping someone could shed some light on my situation. I have a 2001 Honda Civic Automatic. The check engine light came on and the code read P0740. I read that this is a common problem and a possible solution is to drain the fluid and clear the code.
I did that. I noticed while draining the fluid that it was very dirty and had some metal shavings on the magnetic bolt. After refilling it and clearing the code, the light hasn't come back on, but some odd things are still happening.
When the car is in Park or in Neutral, and the engine is reved up, the car wants to move forward. I have no clue why. When I drive the car, it pulls strong no slipping, but in between shifts, the car chatters a little bit.
Before I pull the tranny and rebuild it and replace the torque converter, I would like to know if anyone knows if it could be something electric or simple.
