Clutch or bushing?
We have an '04 Civic EX 5-speed with 85K miles. Last night, with no warning, the gear shift lever became really loose. Unable to engage into any gears with lots of play in the shifter. The clutch pedal does not feel any different. And the engine sounds fine. Any thoughts?

Remove the center console where the shifter is, it sits on 4 bushings see if one of them is torn or possibly the white plastic housing below the shifter is cracked. Start easy right?
