Heat coming from the E-Brake lever base

Heat coming from the E-Brake lever base
While driving, if I place my palm by the base opening I can feel a lot of heat from there.

Anyone else notice this. Is this normal?

Your exhaust is underneath there that is probably it. I cannot think of anything else that really runs through there that could produce heat.

It's normal. If your heat shield wasn't there your carpet would eventually catch on fire.
