so there i am, the 1st gear is awkward to engange, and then all the others, i figure the gearbox is up the spout. but why?? no warnings etc.
well anyway i managed the journey home of 100 miles, matching engine speed to gearbox speed and avoided too many crunches. 1st gear takes like 5 seconds to get, and i tried not stopping by slowing sooner which works welll (and improves fuel economy).
So this all suddenly happened to me with no warning, could it have been a speed bump?
im guessing its the input shaft bearing?? anyone else had this? oh my god what do i do now??

check your clutch fluid level

It kinda sounds like the input shaft bearing. The only thing you can do is take the tranni off crack it open and look at it. It also might be the bearings where the axels get inserted in the tranni, forgot what they are called. Check them first

ok found the problem - i think, removed the airbox and adjusted the gear linkages and coated them in grease - seems to be back to normal. anyway was weird cos i thought the gearbox had gone, did manage 350 miles with no synchromesh
