2004 Civic SI p0134 code (o2 Sensor Questions)
2004 Civic SI p0134 code (o2 Sensor Questions)
I am getting the code P0134 (o2 circuit no activity detected (bank1, sensor1) I did some reading and found out this is the precat o2 sensor. Now this error comes on and randomly shuts off from time to time. But it is stored in the ECU bank.
I saw some discussion about wideband? and not? Correct me if I'm wrong but my 04 civic is a wideband.
I have a 2004 Honda Civic SI 1.7L
I am wondering what O2 sensor I need. I found these two, the price difference is like 100 dollars....
Denso Oxygen Sensor Zoom
Location: Front
Type: Direct OE replacement
Quantity Sold: Sold individually
Warranty: 12-month or 12,000-mile warranty
Part #: W0133-1600568
# List Price:$294.68
# Our Price:$185.95
# You Save: $108.73 (37%
And I also found this part
http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/ba...em_id=14425054
which only costs 34 dollars but appears to be the same thing....
and I found this denso part for 100 dollars...

Any suggestions on which part I need? Should I just go direct and get a Honda Part? what about used o2 sensors?
So after looking around this is the part I need?
36532-PLR-A11 019 001 SENSOR, RR. OXYGEN 310.32 220.33

ALSO:
I have read how to reset the ECU after I replace my sensor. It appears replacing the sensor is quite easy? am I correct? I have a haynes manual for the car. I'm only getting the precat error so should I bother replacing the postcat o2 sensor as well? Is there anything else I should know about replacing the o2 sensor then resetting the ECU? I assume my ECU will automatically reset to default and everything should be working fine once I replace the o2 sensor?

Re: 2004 Civic SI p0134 code (o2 Sensor Questions)
Im having the sensor problem with my Ex right now and can not pass inspection with out it. Which sensor did you get to work? So far the honda part is over 300 and ones from O reillys and autozone are about the same. The sensor looks like it goes directly into the CAT of my 04 and from what I understand, the Ex and Si are the only two of this year make that have this sensor. Could really use the help on this one. deathjester1369@yahoo.com
Re: 2004 Civic SI p0134 code (o2 Sensor Questions)
Yes they are easy to replace, just replace the one you need, and yes after you replace the o2 sensor reset your ECU and everything should be good. I would just go with a Honda o2 sensor I don't like using aftermarket ones, I have had bad experiences with them. I know a lot of cars are picky about o2 sensors and aftermarket ones don't work as well. Some won't even work at all.
Re: 2004 Civic SI p0134 code (o2 Sensor Questions)
The unofficial way is to disconnect your battery for 30 seconds then hook it back up, but your suppose to get a scan tool and reset it with that. Autozone has free scanning you can ask them to erase it for you if you don't have a scan tool.
