Vtec, Mystery Oil and Bears, oh my...

Got a CEL on that I checked at Autozone. Being distracted by the gf who didn't want to spend any longer than she had to there, I forgot to get the exact codes. But, it had something to do with either, faulty wiring, oil plugged somewhere, or faulty Vtec noid. I know it has something to do with Vtec, cuz the car completely lost all power at full throttle at 4500 rpms and almost died, then boom, CEL came on...

Then Autozone recommends I use this stuff called Mystery Oil with the next oil change OR I can mix it with gas in the tank.

Anyone use this stuff? Seems kinda sketch...

01 Civic EX 5spd
190k miles
2500 miles since last oil change
new iridium plugs
AND just cleaned the Vtec noid last oil change

And I also have a passenger side power window that will no longer go down (or up).

um first off, dont do anything autozone recommends lol. more than likely the vtec solenoid screen has sand in it and is blocking oil, which is now causing vtec to stop working. if you already cleaned it recently, check again to be sure. otherwise it could be a faulty valve or oil pressure switch. may want to check the plugs in case one wiggled loose. window is a common problem, usually the driver master switch gets corroded on the passenger side for some reason. you can open it up and clean the metal contacts inside with alcohol. ive had to do it a few times already.

there should be a door panel diy i posted around here. once its off, the window switch is pretty easy to figure out how to remove. the actual switch has some screws and then you just snap the cover apart after pulling out the lock button at the top. then once inside, you will see all the good stuff. gotta carefully pop open the black box on passenger side and clean everything up and reassemble. theres a good chance of breaking something and ive had to use tape to hold the box together afterwards. its really small and delicate stuff inside lol.
