P1361-Manuf. Cntrl Ign. Sys. or Misfire

i just got back from a trip from which my '01 civic (v-tec) basically tried to die on me in the middle lane of the freeway at about 80. its a hundred plus degrees and i was goin uphill with the A/C on. i pulled over and let the car sit for a half hour or so and it had no problems driving the last 15 miles or so home. water and oil are at acceptable levels. there are no obvious sounds of mechanical problems and appears to drive normally. the check engine light is still on and the P1361-Manuf. Cntrl Ign. Sys. or Misfire code comes up. is this signs of something serious? i really dont have the money to get it checked out at the moment and am desperate for any advice.

should i not attempt to drive it until it gets checked out?(which is not likely anytime soon).

any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you in advance

i have a SOHC, but this may be your problem.

did you erase the code when you checked it? that prolly turned the light off.

thanks for responding. i def appreciate the help and am trying to get someone to help me with the tutorial you provided(way over my head, and capabilities).

i did not clear the code. i just tried to see if it was a bad connection and tried to adjust it. it just didnt light up the next morning when i restarted it. all signs point to the sensor.

thanks again for the help

no probs, let me know how it goes. car trouble aint fun, unless you have nothing to do. haha but like i said mine was a SOHC non-vtec, so it might be different, but should point you in the right direction.
