Replaced Alternator and Battery, then all system goes wacko
Hi, I just replaced an alternator and battery with brand new stuff and after a few hours the car (03 civic ex) just started going bonkers. Tach and speedometer went to zero while in motion, head lights dimmed, all the idiot lights went on and off, (cruise control, battery, brake, maint reqd, engine) radio went dead, windows wouldn't go up, no acceleration, when I pulled over, engine started hesitating, like running out of gas and the gear shifter got locked on park. After 15 or so minutes the car started like normal then, 5 minutes of driving the whole process started again.
Any insight on this would be available, Would it be the computer or something? Thanks.

Re: Replaced Alternator and Battery, then all system goes wacko
That's what I thought at first, checked all connections, fuses and still the same. I read in other post's here and other honda forums that it could be the PCM.
What is a PCM?
Where is this PCM located?
Is it a module you unplug and plug in a new one?
I don't have the funds to take to a dealer but can afford a PCM, I believe it's less than $300. Any help or knowledge would be appreciated.

If it happened right after you changed the batt and alt. It's probably related to the install. Check your grounds and such.
