Tranny not changing gears on time 7th gen
Tranny not changing gears on time 7th gen
hey guys,
my 02 civic. engine size 1500cc mileage 242082km, auto trans. i'm in jamaica and i went to the country twice in one week. what i notice is that going up a hill while maintaining my current speed the car slows down significantly and even if i apply more speed it just won't change out. i might even be on a flat and speed it up you will hear the rev but the engine dont respond to changing to a higher gear for awhile. i tried changing to a low gear in both situations and u did not even notice the change, there was no pic up or compression. my mechanic said that hondas have a transmission problem and that it might be i need a new transmission. but he said however that i need to service the car and see if the problem still happens. if someone service the transmission other than changing the oil, what else would they be doing. i know base on the engine size i shouldn't expect much power from the car. my question is could something be the cause or is it just how he 7th gen are. 2. servicing the tranny is it just to change oil or you can pull down the entire thing and clean it.
