2001 LX Headers/Exhaust

Okay, so I know there's a ton of forums on here regarding the differences between the DX/LX set up and the EX set up.

The LX/DX system has the cat right in the exhaust manifold. So I'm finding exhaust systems on websites that are made for the DX/LX specifically, and they include only the rear section (no cat). However what I planned on doing was replacing my headers and getting an exhaust system, and putting on new O2 sensors so I don't get a check engine light. If I'm just going to do this should I order EX parts? since I'm basically going with an EX setup?

Re: 2001 LX Headers/Exhaust

so are you saying that if you go to a strait header on an lx (even if you replace the o2 sensors) that you'll get a check engine?

Re: 2001 LX Headers/Exhaust

I didn't replace the sensors mine didn't set it off till I put the header on I was told i didn't have to but if you heard something differnt then they might know I am working on another problem then I will go back to the 02 sensors. the company that I bought the exaust from said to try someone else's sensors first before I bought new ones but I don't have many import friends to try this on so it will just be about 60 dollars for a maybe fix. But if that is your only problem wih that car you are doing good. and the ex secondary 02 swnsor is located further back on the exaust so you would have to extend the wirring for that. if replacing 02 sensors work tell me about it. and sorry if this don't help you.
