Cruise control
Cruise control
I bought recently a 2001 Civic LX 23,000 miles ,and I noticed that the cruise control just won't respond .I press that main button on the left (by the door),and it lights up, and the light on the dash turns on when I press SET
button on the steering wheel but the car doesn't maintain speed(I was at 60mph)and just decelerate .And some time te engine revs when it's set but it still won't do what is suppose to do.Any common problem ? I think the previous owner never used it(79 years old)

Re: Cruise control
check the cruise control throttle cable (next to the gas pedal cable) under the hood and make sure its tight. the cruise cable connects to the black throttle lever, the gas cable connects to the metal lever. you may just need to tighten it. or the actuator may be broken.
