Missing

Hey guys i got in my car this morning and it was missing, CEL is flashing, so i pulled over and looked at my coils to see if there were any obvious problems. i touched all the coils and the number 1 coil was cold and there other 3 were somewhat warm. it was a very cold morning here, about 25 degrees and snowing. but before i go to class tonight and hook up a scan tool, any tests i can do at my dorm to see if my coils bad? i dont have anything but a socket set haha. until tonight. and how far can i make it before my cat melts? like 200 miles?

Re: Missing

get a multimeter that measures resistance, and check the resistance of each coil. there are three prongs and you only test two, you have to experiment and find the correct pair that gives a normal ohm reading. do this for all four coils and the one that doesnt match the rest is bad.
