Gas Pedal Sticking
Gas Pedal Sticking
Hi. I have a 2003 civic DX and I have a problem with the gas pedal. The pedal is a little hard, and when you go to press the pedal, you have to give it a little force to start moving the pedal. It's not easy to start the accelerating slowly. I read on the Internet that some people have experience this problem on other cars and their problem is that the throttle valve gets gunked up with carbon deposit. I looked at my throttle valve and it has something that looks like carbon, I think. I was wondering, does the throttle valve have to be clean and the walls?
Re: Gas Pedal Sticking
It sure wouldn't hurt to take some throttle body cleaner or seafoam, doust a rag and wipe that badboy down. Open the butterfly and clean the edges of it (the blade looking thingy) and make sure you clean the walls of the throttle body where the butterfly is going to be closing. See what that does for you.
Re: Gas Pedal Sticking
Is it easy to remove the intake?. I think is more easy to clean outside. On the internet it says to use carb. cleaner and I don't know if the carb. cleaner gets inside the engine could damage something. Any tips?
