just purchased a used 2005 honda civic dx; got off work and tried to start
the car and it wouldn't even crank; got a jump on it and it turned on; got home and shut off engine; tried to start it again and it wouldnt crank again; noticed that the 2 guages ( gas and mph) were ticking and slighty jumping and the miles odometer was blinking even with the engine turned off and the key out; please help; what could it be; thank you

when you get it running disconnect the battery if it shuts off its the alternater.

thanks for the advice; replaced the alternator and recharged the battery; all is good;
