How to change a 2002 Honda Civic EX alternator

HELP! The mechanic I usually work with want's to charge me upwards of $450 to change the alternator in my civic! That seems outrageous! Is it something I could possibly do on my own?

I change my 99 Cobra's alternator following Hane's manual procedures. You just need to find a guy friend to help you that has a little mechanical apitude and a Hane's manual for your Civic's year and go buy a re-built alternator from a parts store....should be way less than $450.

alternator is a bit tricky because on civics alot of stuff tends to have to come apart. and be sure everything is assembled and grounded properly or you could end up fry the ecu.
