Is there anyone who can advice me?

I own 01 civic LX, 120k millage on it.
I have problem with no cold A/C blowing, no automatic lock work, break light is on always. So I took my local mechanic (SC).
He said all functions are fine with it. so he suggested me to take honda dealer to check and replace an ECU. The honda will charge around $ 800. This is an arms and legs for me. So. I took another mechanic. He is trying to help me out. He does not know exactly. Even he was first time to take my ECU out.
I found how to reset and we did reset together but still same.
Even I am not sure if the ECU is bad. He is asking me to find the used one in e bay in order to replace it.

Do you think i have to buy the ECU to replace?
How can we know if ECU is bad?
Does civic ECU control the A/C, automatic lock?

It sounds more like a "multiplex unit" issue to me than an ECU. Search the board for other post on the subject.

^I agree. IF your motor is running fine its definitely not the ECU.
