Oil After 100k

Hello all,
Ive been reading in the fourm for a few months an just decided to join. Seems to be a great Place. So on to the question.

I just got a 01 civic lx with 115k (also own 07 lx) my question is should i use 5/20 oil or should i go up a bump and get something thicker due to the higher millage?

I was looking at the oil filter thread and it seems that a lot of people use 5w30. i will switch on my next oil change. Since your here gearbox do you really think the FP60 and the LP20? Does it really help out? I'm interested but when i went on the website the prices were like 40$ a Gallon.

Re: Oil After 100k

i love the lubecontrol products. ive been using both for about 4 yrs non stop. better mileage, clean motor. the prices for a gallon are well worth it and they will last you at least a year or more. the lc20 usually lasts much longer, since you only add 1oz every 1k miles after the initial dose. the fp plus you only need 1oz per 10 gallons of gas! the fp60 is the old formula which you need to use 1oz per 5 gallons. get the fp plus for gas.
