Fuel injectors cleaners + problems

Hi all,
I have a question regards the Fuel injection cleaners, will they harm the car performance?
For my situation, I used Chevron Fuel Additive and STP fuel injection cleaner. and I put it on the tank, I notice the following:
1- The car is getting lazy (lost some power).
2- The gas mileage going down, from 397/34 to 30/29
3- The car starts idling on 400-450 not as usual 550-600 (but it does not hesitate or satel down) (not all the times, some times at the stops and traffic lights)
I feel that the car is running rich!!! but i do not know (the exhaust tip is silver color original but now it is dark black) and i did not notice any type of smoke, but i smell fuel some times)
The only things that I did in the same time were installing Greddy Evo 2 Cat-back muffler, changing the car oil (i think they used a regular oil not a synthetic blend oil) and changing the cone filter on my SRI (I used an AEM filter).
I have another problem, the turn signal hand on the steering wheel is not returning back to off after straightening the wheel, if there is any way to fix this issue also (it works some days then stop then come back to work again)
Please advice me to fix these problems.

Thanks.
Re: Fuel injectors cleaners + problems
ya, u might be running rich.
id say replace ur 02 sensors. maybe it cleaned ur injectors alot and the parts dirtied ir sensors and now they are making ur run rich and just making it worse. mine is doing the same thing and im changing the sensors next week.
i can smell the gas when i idle.

all the stuff in store is garbage. try lubecontrol.com fp-plus in the gas and lc20 in the oil. you wont regret it. i been using for almost 3 yrs with excellent results.
Re: Fuel injectors cleaners + problems
I have not been using any of these stuff before in the car and the only time i used STP cleaners/Chevron Fuel Additive: Techron Concentrate but i get these symptoms
what i a thinking is that the dust and dirt from the injectors reach th O2 sensors and block or some thing like that, is there ay way to check that or fix it?? is my tough correct??
thanks

if the o2 sensors are bad, they must be replaced. its very delicate and if anything spills or contaminates them, they wont work. no way to clean them
Re: Fuel injectors cleaners + problems
what exactly do those lube control things do exactly? i mean, are they really worth buying and using? is there any info (other than their own site) on it that says it works?
i might pick some up if it really does help.

oh theres no cel? then the sensors are prolly fine. the light will come on if theres any problem with em.
the lubecontrol.com stuff is just extra maintenance to keep the engine and fuel system clean. it is not a harsh cleaner, it works slowly and then keeps the car in good shape so long as you keep using it all the time. i recommend the gallon jug of each cause its way cheaper than the small bottles.

Re: Fuel injectors cleaners + problems
try adjusting your valves? if ya got a lot of miles on them, the valve clearance probablly is getting pretty loose causing a drop in performance and such
Re: Fuel injectors cleaners + problems
Have you tried simply replacing your fuel filter(s)? Sometimes fuel additives will clean the gunk out of the fuel system and the gunk will collect in the filters (good proof that the filters are doing their job.) Change the filters and check them again in about 300 kms to see if they need to be changed a second time. If there was a lot of gunk in the fuel system you may have to go through a few filters.
I also recommend using a good quality fuel and oil additive. My personal favorite are Bi-Tron products. They seem to lubricate the engine components and the fuel system components quite well. More info here:

Re: Fuel injectors cleaners + problems
On the contrary, certain chemicals are a good thing when used in the proper combinatoric ratio. Most people don't read instructions and throw their whole bottle into the tank. I swear that seafoam is the schitt, but too much can damage fuel delivery components.
