Question Exhaust Cat-Delete!!

I've read the exhaust faq and I know all about using non-foulers for o2 sensors and the differences between my lx exhaust and an ex exhaust. My question is, anyone who has done a test-pipe/cat-delete setup, have you legitimately passed emissions? A.k.a. without having a buddy sign off for you or some other way around it. I want to know if anyone has actually had their car ran through the test...... and passed without a cat. Thanks all ahead of time for your feedback. And sorry if this isn't the right forum for this thread, I wasn't sure where to post it.

Re: Exhaust Cat-Delete!!

It all depends on your state and how they test. In oregon they plug into the odb2 and if all is chill they pass you. If your dropping codes and all that then they are going to look around and see what the issue is, and potentially give you a ticket for not having a cat. If you dont have a cat, you'r going to be running a lot louder than normal, which will be hard to play off without some resonators or a silencer in your exhaust tip.

If you want to check to make sure your not droping codes, use an odb2 scanner- rent it from autozone or whatever.

If they actually test the exhaust, you will fail. Plain and simple.

Re: Exhaust Cat-Delete!!

I live in Washington state and currently run without a cat, I yanked it out the other week...

Here in Washington, just like in Oregon they just plug in to the computer to check for error codes related to emmision components.

Re: Exhaust Cat-Delete!!

what about a high low converter, i.e. the random technologies super hi-flow converters?

You should pass with a high flow cat.
