anyone with a 7th gen have a problem with the 5th gear popping out?
pretty much when i shift to 5th, it will only stay in for a few minutes then pop out, after about half hour of driving, it will pop out frequently, as short as 30 seconds, i pretty much gotta hold it in if i wanna drive in 5th, pretty ****kin annoying, and i dont wanna go str8 to a tranny shop not knowing anything about it and get ripped off, just wondering if anyone knows what i could be

could be Honda's fault. Take it to them and make them fix it for free.

i wish i could, but i was the 3rd owner n it happened a couple months after i got it

long story short, i had the balljoint bolt fall off and come out of the nuckle while i was driving, and it all started after i repaired it

there is a tsb about it, its either the bushings at the transmission developing corrosion, or its the shift forks inside the transmission, i have the tsb if u have an email addy

now it barley stays in 5th at all and it wont go into reverse, and it grinds when i have the clutch ingaged

What a stupid comment, how are you going to make a company fix something for free. "Excuse me Mr. Major Company, I want this fixed for free ok...oh my reason? Because I want it for free."

How long after the BJ fell out did the issue happen? Was it right away(ie: day you fixed it) or was it a few days after?

and it was so long ago, almost a year if not a year.
but it wasnt right away, i think a couple weeks after

and actually right now, it wont go in reverse and will not stay in 5th at all. and it makes noises when the clutch is engaged

i been reading that "diagnosing tranny problems" thread, im only on page 5, and i realized the input shaft berring must be hooped. but would this also cause the gear problems or is there some kind of adjustment, because it only started making noises yesturday
i figured maybe there was some way to adjust something seeing as the right gears are ****ed (5th n reverse)...til i started reading that thread, now im not sure

(also my cars been parked for like 3 months now, just had a 3 day permit on it 2 weeks ago, and a 1 day permit yesturday)

Have you checked the shifter linkage? Remove the centre console and check to see if anything is binding or catching the cables or shifter.

hold on ur the third owner of the car right if u are did u get the car this way? for the revers problem i think i might know what it is theres a peice up at the top of the case which if its not seated properly it can cause it to not go in reverse the fifth gear problem might be a shreaded gear maybe im not shure but im shure if its what i think it might be that peice broken because thats what happened to our car it broke and we couldent get into reverse

o yeah and your throw out barring might be busted that might be what the noise is when the clutch is engaged
