Odd Engine Hesitation
Odd Engine Hesitation

I think I'm having some of the same issues as with some of the other pple with the engine hesitation.... some other things i noticed in my car:
I start the car in the morning and no problems.... warm, damp or cold weather. I start her up within a 2-3hr period of it being on and the engine rpm's drop from idle speed to apprx 250 or less, even if i give gas, in gear or not, nothing happens. After it feels like to, the engine (within 30 sec to 1min) the rpms shoot up to approx 2000 sticks there for a couple seconds and comes back down to idle. After a couple times hesitating like this everything is fine. This issue is intermittent, doesn't happen all the time...75% of the time i'd say. Been like this for about a one yr. Does anyone else have similar problems?

Re: Odd Engine Hesitation
When I first got my car I had hesitation/jerking problems. I would put the gear into first, give the car some gas to 2k rpm's and slowly let the clutch out. The rpm's would drop drastically, causing the engine to hesitate, then BAM jump forward again.
I read a thread once with a guy having this same problem with his brand new civic, so he took it back to the dealership for a refund.
The 7thgen was poorly made imo. Poor speakers, transmission, loose throttle cable, faulty fuel sensor, faulty door actuator, faulty headlight assembly (01 model only), and maybe a coupe more small issues.
To help curve this problem I tightened my throttle cable to get rid of the extra slack. This helps out a little bit, but even with the cable adjusted my engine still hesitates sometimes. You have to match rpm's and clutch precisely to not jerk the engine.
I am thinking about upgrading my clutch and flywheel to something better than OEM, but for a N/A engine. I dont know if I will go turbo or not, but my transmission needs some upgrading.

Re: Odd Engine Hesitation
I had idle problem with it stalling while driving because the rpm dropped in level. It turned out to be the cam sensor or tdc sensor. THe check engine light came on and I will pick it up from the mechanic tomorrow.
