go to autozone and have the code pulled, then come back, tell us the code, and we will help

Re: 02 civic check engine light

did you plug in the IAT sensor (air intake temp sensor), if you unplugged it to install the K&N?

Re: 02 civic check engine light

no auto zone up here in maine for like 45miles

IAT sensor was plugged in

i just reset the code again by resetting the ecu yesterday morning and it has not been on again.

it seems like it will come on again in 2500-3500mi

my father mentioned that by putting the k&n in i could have messed up the the air/fuel ratio in the car, but without software i couldn't look at this could i? i know how to adj in older chevy's but not Honda's..

next time the light comes on i think i want to go and buy a code reader. any suggestions on where to get a good one that can reset codes?

thanks

Re: 02 civic check engine light

there is no way the new filter caused it. those filters are crappy and let in alot of dirt, but they wont make the light come on. either somethings not plugged right, or its coincidence and something else happened. any auto parts store should have a scanner, or just buy a cheap one on ebay for $30.
