Purchasing 2002 Civic EX question

What would you pay for buying a 2002 Honda Civic EX 4-door sedan, 67,000 miles, single owner, well-maintained, one scratch on side of passenger door, Automatic transmission, FWD, power steering/windows/locks, keyless entry, CD player, cruise control, ABS, sun roof, front and side airbags, alarm system, snow tires with alloy wheels from a private buyer? Or where would you start the negotiating price? The seller is offering the vechile for 10K.

not bad, but the 01-02 auto transmission is known to go out around 100k miles or less.

Re: Purchasing 2002 Civic EX question

I've been looking at comparable cars to what you mentioned lately, and they all seem to be around 8K. Some lower, some higher, but that's all depending on whether they've done anything to the car and what its history is like. You should definitely be able to talk that seller down.

Also, check out the blue book price for a more concrete estimate.
