Door edge guards - how to remove?

Hey everyone - first post here. I tried searching and found some related topics, but no answers to my question. Anyway, my dealer installed those plastic door edge guards on my car, and I think they're quite ugly and would like to remove them. I have a 2005 Civic LX. Does anyone here know how I would go about removing them? They seem as though they're glued on. Also, will I have paint damage if I remove them? I don't want to have to deal with paint issues.

Thanks for any help you can provide!

Re: Door edge guards - how to remove?

You'll be fine if the glue is heated up enough to get the guards off. You will need to do it on either a hot day or with a hairdryer/heat gun as suggested. Then use something like Goo Gone to get the remaining adhesive off, then yes, your paint will be fine.
