Temperature compensation. Engine won't start when below freezing.
So here's the deal. My car won't start when it is colder than about -5 degrees celcius. It turns over fine, just sounds like it is misfiring. Sometimes it stays running at about 200rpm on its own untill it stalls after 10 seconds. Battery is new, by which I mean I got it less than a month ago. Honda genuine.
When it is warmer out, the engine has no issues starting. Pulls strong throughout the rev band, no knocking, no funny idle.
I've been pushing my car into my garage everytime it didn't start this winter to let it warm up and turn over properlly. I'm glad winter is over now. Time to solve this issue.
Now this is what I've been asking myself. How bad must the AFR be for the engine to refuse to start. The only thing I can think of is my temperature compensation tables is way off and causing it to not start when its too cold.
What must the AFR and spark ignition degree be on cranking?

cold weather always makes mine crank longer and slower, but it will start up and idle fine, usually around 2000rpms which is a fast idle to warm the cat and the engine faster. thats normal. but it shouldnt be shutting off. maybe you have idle air valve problem? may want to take off the TB and iac valve connected to it and clean them all.

Engine will not start even with I hold the throttle pedal at 50% or 100% when cranking. Just misfires as always.
