Clutch Problem
Clutch Problem
I was driving on the highway today and it was stop and go traffic so i had to shift down to 2nd and stop then go to first, it gets annoying fast, but when I went to 2nd and 1st it wouldn't let me then I got into 2nd and when trying to get into 1st i heard a bit of a grind. Any ideas I think its my clutch going, but then again it's only 1st and 2nd gear so I'm just confused.

Re: Clutch Problem
You have to be going pretty slow to get it back in first gear. I have a 2001, you might have to be going even slower in the newer models.
Anyone know for sure?
Either way if you are coming to a complete stop and you can't get it into first gear, something isn't right.
What year is your car? Have you had the tranny fluid replaced yet?

Re: Clutch Problem
I've got the same problem, but one way to solve it is to double clutch rev match when you want to go back into gear one when your moving. Basically, you have to have the clutch let out and tap the gas to rev to the RPM to match the speed your suppose to be rolling at in gear 1. If you do it correctly you should be able to put it back into first no problem and if your good, you can even dump the clutch and be smooth, but that takes practice. I've only got it prefect only a couple of handful. Most of the time when I get it back into first gear, I add some gas as I let go of the clutch.
