1992 vti civic pressurizing coolant system

1992 vti civic pressurizing coolant system my 1992 vti civic (b16a2) engine is pressurizing the coolant system .i bled system fitted new thermostat as the coolant pipe from rad to thermo was constantly cold. it does overheat it is not blocked fittd w pump and flushed system. its not putting out smoke etc. i am sure now that it is head gasket as i have tryd most other things. is this a common fault or any ideas?
