2001 Civic EX Coupe Cold Air when idle

Hello everyone, I have a 2001 Civic EX coupe and I am noticing when I stop my car at a stoplight the heat will blow cold, however when I continue after the stop, the air will gradually warm up again. I have checked all fluid levels and that all seems to be in order. Any idea what may be going on?

The engine must be up to operating temerature for the heater to consistantly blow out hot air.

I am having the same problem with my 01 Civic. The engine heats up fine and never fluctuates. I am assuming this means that the head is okay and the thermostat is okay...right? From reading the other threads, it sounds like it might be a heater core issue. Any other thoughts?

I'm not sure how easy it is to get to the thermostat, but that's the first thing I would replace. It's cheap.... Then go on to more expensive stuff. Does the temp of your engine remain constant, or does that fluctuate when this happens? For some reason I seem to remember someone else had this problem, can't place it though. Good luck.

If the thermostat is bad, the engine temp would be affected I think...right? I will probably do this to be safe, but I don't think this is ultimately the problem.
