When i switch my car from D to R and vice versa i can hear the gears change really loudly, like clanking sound...... i mean it doesn't sound bad... but is it supposed to be this loud where i can hear the gears change... and the vehicle is fully stopped. I took it to the dealer and they told me its normal... but i dont believe them so anyone have any advice?

i just got a new tranny and there is no clanking noise. Are u auto or manual?

I don't think it is the trany.
Check and see if you CV joints are loose or wabally. Do you drive really aggressive?

the cv bolts are fine..... and i drive semi aggressively..... not always though lol only when im in a hurry

Is it the sound as you move through each detent? If so, ya that makes some noise. Ive never seen a CV joint wear out in 20k miles LOL.
