Vent Time: I hate my Dealership...Long Read
I recently took my car to the dealership after just buying my 01 civic to get the diagnostic run and the recall list checked out. I also had them diagnose a sound that was comming from my transmission when the clutch was engaged in reverse. The guy at the dealership said that the diagnosis would be $109 so I agreed and went back to work. About an hour later the dealership called me back and said that I had a bad control arm bushing and that there were no outstanding recalls on my car. Let me repeat that a bad control arm bushing.
I brought the car in for a problem. I couldn't diagnose the reverse sound. They tell me that "the trans is fine, it is a control arm". Over the next week the sound got worse. So in lou of going back to the dealership where I would be charged another c-note. I took it to Aamco.
The guys at Aamco said that my reverse sprag was torn up and had to be replaced along with a few other sprags while he was in there. At that point I told him to do the work and put in a new clutch kit.
Took my car back to the dealership and they said that they missed a recall that needed to be done. A headlight switch that I had asked about is specific when I originally took it in. I think it was just a ploy to calm me down because I was fuming. Now my car has to spend another saturday at the dealership. GD deallership. The only good thing they do is sell cars and sometimes you get taken for a ride then too.
Post back if you hate the dealership or in contrast if you have had a good experience with the dealership send back too.

Well our dealership only charges $90 to look at it funny. What a ripoff. But I have had bad experiences with them and my alternator.
Although I have heard of the headlight recall. Something about it burning out and then it wont turn on. But the only other recall that I have been told about is the windshield washer switcher. The stick on the right of the steering wheel. Apparently that goes bad sometimes as well. Free with the dealership.
But they definately do try to take advantage of you when you go there unfortuneately.

No other way around low beams worked but the transition to high smetimes didnt register, resulting in no lights when I tried to put on high beams. Ghost car syndrome, scary stuff when you are driving fast on mountain roads in the dark.

Ok, so I took my 2001 Honda Civic to Burlington Honda to get a grinding problem fixed. Mind you, I had filed a complaint with Honda America and they told me to take it there and get the problem diagnosed and then they would figure out if it where going to help pay for it. Anyway, So they didn't charge me, but they told me it was my clutch. So going off of what they said and since they sent it back to Honda the claim was dropped because it was a wear and tear problem. Weeks went by so I could save money for a clutch, I called them after looking through this site and honda crap and it said that they have frequent sychros problems. So I called them told them that, they said it def wasn't the synchros it was a clutch and they never have synchros problems. About a week later i called back didn't tell them my name and was like Okay, if this is my problem what should I do. Another mechanic said it was synchros. I was like funny car the other guy said it was clutch and it was like let me let you talk to my manager. I was like yeah what ever. SO after talking with the manager I did a little more research. Called back and was like if I replace the clutch... will that fix the problem. He was like, we didn't say it was the problem we just said because of the mileage it would be smart to replace it. SO I went off on them and called Crown Honda and took the car in. After 3 minutes with the tech, he said it was snychros. But because I bought the car second hand and not from a dealer the warranty was void. SO I had to call Honda America back to reopen my claim and explain ever thing to the nice lady. Real Long story short...... I have to pay $868 of $2000 to get it fixed. Not bad but all the calling and running around pissed me the frick off. Frick Burlington Honda!!!!
