110k mile maintenance
My 01 civic lx 5-speed is getting close to 110k and my maintenance light came on yesterday. After doing some research I saw that the valve adjustment, timing belt, water pump, and spark plugs have to be done. I bought the car with 101k miles on it so I dont know what milage the timing belt was changed at, if at all. What kind of cost am I looking at this this??? I also have a bit of valve clicking or some jingle sound between 1500 and 2500 RPM when the car is cold or just started. Thanks for any input.
Re: 110k mile maintenance
I have an 02 Civic EX with 108,000 on it. Timing belt change, h20 pump you are looking at like 500-600 bucks if done at a honda dealer. that is what one quoted me. A buddy with a mechanic shop said he feels comfortable doing it so I will have him do it for half the price. If you look on Ebay you can get a kit with all the parts for like $120 bucks, they are all OEM parts. Then just have a good mechanic that fells comfortable doing it do it. Just my 2 cents.
