Everytime I put my car into park, and let off the brake pedal, it car seems to roll back slightly and then stop. kinda rocks back and forth. It's been doing this more and more lately, when i first had the car it never did this. any ideas on what causes this? Its an automatic.

You should also used the parking brakes, doing that too much could damage your transmission.

??????????? lol ....are u serious. dont worry about it man its really not that big a deal. its jus ur brakes letting off a little pressure once u take ur foot off. sometimes itll do it, sometimes it wont. trust me your fine. there is no need to use ur parking brake in an automatic most of the time. ecspecially if ur parking on a flat surface.

I've had 2 7th gen civics, and the one i have now does it more than my last one, and and it doesnt matter if im on a flat surface or not. still does it. I just felt it does it a little more than normal.

i just use my parking brake all the time, its a habit ive gotten into. auto trannys arnt kick stands. i know people say it wont affect it but constantly doing that over years has got to take some sort of toll on it.

does it really do that? if it is, better have your transmission checked.

on the other hand, make sure that you come to a full stop before you put it in park.
