Vin location on engine
Vin location on engine
I have a 2001 civic lx.. have an AEM CAI on it and decided to drive it through what some might call a small lake of a puddle.. and no, i didn't actually decide to do this.. it was so smooth and it was so dark out there i didn't see it.. so my cold air intake turned into a straw.
We all know what that means.. hydrolocked... my engine was a goner. thanks to state farm not caring about my modification that killed my engine, they took care of it all for me..
$2500 in labor/new engine/iac valve.. also got a new clutch and timing belt while i was at it.
Anyway, on to the point of my post. They replaced my engine with another D17A1 with 78000 miles on it (mine had 105000). There are some slight differences. For instance, the mounting bracket for a hose used for the air conditioner is 2 inches too far away to mount it properly. I think I may have a slightly different engine.. maybe an 02 model or something. They also had to remove the heat shield from around the headers. Can anyone tell me where on the block to look for the vin?
i must be blind..
yea.. car ran fine for 4 or 5 days after repair and engine light is on and car is idling at 1500rpm.. oh well. state farm gave me a 1 yr warranty on it.
