Just a question for you guys that drive automatic vics. I was just wondering, why do you drive auto??

Its not to start a flame war. I have a manual tranny, but I was just wondering why you guys bought the auto. I get bored driving auto cars to quickly. I always need to fidget with something when driving.

- So did you buy your auto because your spouse can't drive stick.
- You can't drive stick.
- You know how to drive stick, just too lazy to change gears.
- You prefer spending more at the dealership for an auto over a manual. (this one's a joke)
- One hand on the wheel, one hand around the ladies.
- You got a really good deal on a used auto.

So what's your reasons for buying an auto??

I would like to know how our cars even move with auto trannys. My 01 LX and 05 EX are both so slow with the manual that I couldn't imagine them being any slower and still being street legal.

for me the car was a gift from my parents, beggers cant be choosers lol

oh and my auto tranny really hates autocross one of these days its gonna kerplode on me, oh well thats why im working on a k swap :-)

i drive AT becouse the dealer didnt have any MTwhen i got my car and if i wanted a manual i had to wait a least 3 weeks,at the time i was desperated for a car so i said f**K it.

Parents didnt want me to get a standard transmission at the time when I got it but its ok! I swapped it over now

i had an 05 civic vp auto but i bored with it and found the same car in 2 door and manuel so i traded my s**t in as fast as possible. the first car was an impulse i needed a car bad

auto cuz my civic was a graduation gift from my grandparents. i was planning on going manual, i wanted to learn really bad, but my mom wouldnt let me get a manual tranny car (she and i picked it out) because 1. she didnt want me with a used MT and 2. didnt want me racing. but does it stop me? nahhh

because i like my cruise control, auto starter, and being stuck with a stick in traffic sucks. I have had sticks before and unless you have a sports car they why have em? your going to get a better trade in on a auto anyways.

I got a good deal on mine and not to mention i was desperate at the time for a good car that got great gas milage. Also i figure considering this engine is more of an economic one vs a power going manual wasn't going to do that much. Now if i had bought a car with a k20 engine in it i would have made sure it was manual.

parents basically chose the car for me cause it was their money. i had no choice...either the civic or corolla. i only got to choose the color. no way im taking the poor mans retirement car (corolla).

I don't really know how to drive a manual. I've driven one around the block a couple of times, but that doesn't count. If I had found the right car and it had had a manual trans I would have learned. Actually I'm hoping to be getting another car with a 5 speed next month.

back in 03, i didnt know how to drive stick. last year i started learning stick with the help of some friends cars. after that i traded not for the same car in stick, but for something totally better and newer.

This car was the first manual that I had. And I don't ever see myself going back to an automatic until I'm 60+ yrs. old. Driving with an auto tranny is way too boring.

cuz i have a.d.d? can't pat my belly and rub my head at the same time...or is rub yer belly pat your head...ah hell i don't know..it wirks out because i do allot of driving in hollywood/los angeles/the valley(california) and having a stick would just be a pain in the bitch ***...i don't race...i don't calculate either...computers have made life easier....scary.
