2000 Civic EX Clutch Problem?

I just bought a 2000 Civic EX and when I test drove it it was just fine. Couple days later I started noticing a slight jumpiness of my car when I would shift into 2nd,3rd and 4th gears. Its gotten a little worse since then.

If I am in first and go from a stop it will be just fine, when I shift to 2nd gear it will be fine for about a second then act as if it is not getting any gas or gas is being injected at irregular intervals. Same thing happens with 3rd and 4th gear...5th gear doesn't do it unless i'm at 2.5-3,000 rpms....

I think its my clutch slipping but I can't tell.. Please help?

Check your timing and also check ur spark plugs. see if u r not missing on any cylinders. if a cylinder is not firing usually the spark plugs look black. had the same problem with my lincoln thought it was the transmission and then i replaced all the spark plugs and spark plug wires and it fixed the problem. but now i have a civic.

but either way, i would replace spark plugs and spark plug wires and see what it does

Yeah it was the spark plugs, one was bad. I'm happy it was minor though...PHEW.
