Exclamation 04 Civic VP HEADERS ?

Does anyone on the forum have experience with HEADERS on a 04/05 civic VP ??? There are not many brands making em and the ones on ebay dont look that professional. Has anyone tried the EBAY ones ? And if you have did you have any trouble with fiiting and 02 sensor + C.E.L ???

p.s. Please dont scream at me if there is another Topic on HEADERS coz i simply couldnt find it

i have an 05 civic VP. your engine should be a D17A1 which is an LX/DX engine. so if your going to buy headers, then you can buy some off ebay, just search for "04 civic LX headers" but for some reason its more expensive than EX headers. BTW you can buy EX headers and put it on your engine as long as your downpipe and exhaust are EX too. that way you save money.

My car is a VP not EX so how would i have downpipe and exhaust of an EX ? I didnt really understand u there sorry ... Let me open it up a bit ..
My car is bone stock right now with the exception of an AEM V2 Intake ...
So if i plan to get downpiping and muffler job done its ok for me to get EX headers ? Is that what you implied ? If yes dont u think the Header gasket would be a problem ?

That is what he is impied. NO, the gasket will not be a problem. Do a search there are plenty of threads about putting the ex exhaust on a LX, or DX. Since your car has a D17A1 motor you will fall in to the LX, DX badging. The difference is the placement of the cat. That is all I am going to tell you, you will need to do a search and find the rest.

the diff between LX/EX exhausts is the LX/DX has the catalytic converter in the exhaust manifold(header), while the EX has a header and then a midpipe with a cat built in. exhaust systems built for EX are shorter because there is a second pipe(midpipe) extending from the header. LX/DX are basically a header-back system because there is no midpipe. you wont find LX/DX headers very common because no one makes a replacement header/cat manifold, instead you must buy a EX header and a midpipe/cat and convert to an EX style exhaust system. if you plan on doing this note that there is a different number of O2 sensors in both exhaust setups.

i asked the same questions when i got on this site.

Im a complete jerk when it comes to cars ... Can u please break it all down ... First of all tell me the exact list of things I need for the whle job ... Like ..

If I am getting CUSTOM PIPING done from a local Muffler shop ... what Stuff do i need ? apart from the piping ? Like what headers? what cat. convertor (do i even need one)? and most important of all is WILL I HAVE TO CHANGE MY current O2 sensors? If yes how many of them are they and any note on the price ?

Thanks a lot
