Removing side air vents?

I need to remove both of the side air vents in the interior of my civic coupe but I have no clue how to proceed. Do they just pop out? does anyone know how they come out?

thanks

From what I remember, push vent all the way up or down, then grab exposed vent area and pull out. Some people have used a screwdriver wrapped in cloth, but I'm pretty sure it just pulls out.

There are 4 clips, one at each corner on the sides. Push vent all the way down, grab bottom of vent housing, and pull out.

awesome, thanks alot for the help. Do they come out and re-install faily easy? I wont mess around if it will cause me a hastle.

also, im not sure if you know this but, I am planning on switching out the portion of the vent that swivels with the US part as the SE console I bought is US spec and has the chrome ***** on the vents(in Canada they are black plastic), so i want to match the side vents.

Is it easy to separate this part from the vent housing and re-install? as it is possible to purchase just that part of the vent or the entire vent assembly as a whole (which is obviously more expensive).

thanks

I pulled my driver's side out one time to determine how to get it to stop swiveling so easily and put it back in. No problems, just don't break the clips that hold it in.

I believe the vent just pops out of the housing. All my vents are completely black, I've never seen any with silver *****. The vent should be able to be purchased separately like at Majuestic. Have you thought about just painting the ***** to match?

i found the price, its $5 each for the vents, might as well replace as opposed to painting..

Just FYI - if you order them from Majestic there will be shipping charges and a $5 handling fee. Check your Honda dealership, they'll probably end up cheaper.
